Rider REICHE

This rider is part of the main contract and aims to give you as much information about REICHE as possible prior to the show, so the day will run smoothly.

If some parts aren’t possible for you to accommodate, please let us know as fast as possible.

ARRIVAL AND SOUNDCHECK

REICHE requires at least 45 minutes from stage access to soundcheck curfew. If that is not possible, please let Vegard know at least 2 weeks prior to show date.

LIGHT TECHNICIAN

REICHE will not be bringing their own light technician and will therefore greatly appreciate it if a local and friendly* light technician can handle the lights during the show.

PA

PA system should be of a reputable make (d&b, Turbosound, Adamson, Coda, Meyer Sound, L-acoustic etc), have appropriate power and headroom to cover the venue evenly and distortion free and should be installed safely and correctly. The PA system needs to be capable of producing a sustained, clean and undistorted and uncompressed level of at least 103dBa measured from front of house. In case of any dB limits, we must be informed at least 2 weeks prior to the show date.

We will not be held responsible for any damage to the PA system, monitors, backline, audience or personnel caused by incorrect mechanical or electrical installation or insufficient power.

MONITORS

At least 2 wedges on separate sends, but preferably 2 wedges connected in stereo for Vegard (guitar) and 1 wedge for Øyvind (drums). Monitors should also be of a reputable make and should have ample headroom before distortion and be in good working order.

POWER

REICHE will need at least 6 x 230v (LK) distributed for backline. All power should be safely and correctly installed and sharing a common ground with the mixing desk and pa/monitoring systems and isolated from any lighting, cooling or other motor systems. Noise or buzz from poorly installed power will not be tolerated, neither will voltage differences

leading to shock.

STAGEPLOT

REICHE MUST STAND FACING EACH OTHER DIRECTLY, preferably as close as possible, with Vegard (guitar) on stage right and Øyvind (drums) on stage left (hi-hat side facing the audience). This is the only point in the rider that is 100% non-negotiable. Guitar amplifiers and bass amplifier is preferably placed behind Vegard on stage right, if necessary, they can be facing the audience if placed directly to Vegard’s left side. SOUND IDEAL

The sound REICHE is aiming for, is that we’re equally important in the mix, NOT that we’re a drummer and a soloist. A more even balance between us usually works best. Please talk to us about this during soundcheck if you’re unsure of what we’re going for.

BACKLINE REQUIREMENTS (minimum)

REICHE does not carry backline to any shows unless agreed upon at least 1 month prior to show date. For REICHE to be playing our best and to provide a good experience for the audience, we require the following backline:

DRUMS

Drums should be of a reputable maker (Ludwig/Gretsch/Premier/Yamaha etc) in good condition, with skinheads in good condition and all necessary hardware. Øyvind has a particularly explosive playing style, therefore all hardware must be sturdy and in good condition.

Øyvind always brings his own cymbals and 1 snare drum, but requires the following:
Drums:

  • Bass drum (18”/20”/22”)
  • Snare drum
  • Rack tom
  • Floor tom

Hardware:

  • At least 3 boom cymbal stands
  • 1 Hi-hat stand
  • 2 snare stands
  • BD-pedal
  • Drum chair
  • Drum rug

AMPLIFIERS

Vegard always brings his own pedalboard that uses a basic 3-channel mid/side-system: Bass amp panned center, with stereo guitar amps panned Left and panned Right. The bass amp acts as the sub in the system, and Vegard will turn on/off the signal to this amp several times during the concert.

Guitar amplifiers:

  • Fender Twin/Deluxe (Guitar L) Check phase against the other amp
  • VOX AC30 (Guitar R) Check phase against the other amp
  • Ampeg bass amp with 6×10/8×10/ or Fender Bassman with 2×15 cab (Bass/sub C)

VISUALS

If we have time during the soundcheck, and the sound engineer think this sounds like a fun challenge and have the energy for it, REICHE also have visuals:

  • We bring our own interactive black & white video synth, but we need a long HDMI cable from the projector to reach Vegard’s pedalboard, or alternatively to the amplifiers.
  • Projector of reputable brand facing us on stage
  • Projector screen of reputable brand and adequate size for the stage
  • An aux must be set up from FOH with the kick track(s) and guitar/bass track sent back to the stage via a ¼ inch male jack, which will go into the input of our video synth. Always send some guitar/bass here and increase/decrease the amount of kick to trigger the scene/effect change on the video synth. You’ll need to follow the music and increase the kick level during high-intensity sections – it’s IMPORTANT that you pay attention and don’t blast the kick send, as this can create a strobe-like effect that can become overwhelming if not managed carefully, since it triggers the synth to change scenes/effects continuously in a rapid pace.
  • Feel free to give us a call beforehand if you have any questions about this!
  • This is a bonus project if we have time during soundcheck and you’re up for the challenge, but the sound and listening are the most important – prioritize that! 🙂

REICHE look forward to working together and to play at your venue.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
